White Sox Reach Deal With Free Agent Adam Dunn

According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, at roughly 3:55 PM, the Chicago White Sox reached an agreement with free agent slugger Adam Dunn.

The prized slugger that Kenny Williams has desperately been searching for has finally arrived on the South Side, as the two sides have agreed on a 4 year, $56 million deal.

Dunn hit .260 with 38 home runs and 103 RBI last season for the Nationals, so one can imagine how much that production can improve at the Cell. I’d expect 100+ RBI and 40+ home runs easily from Dunn as long as he stays healthy.

This thankfully ends the “rotating DH” experiment and gives the White Sox not only the power hitter they need, but a major left handed hitter as well.

Great move by Kenny Williams, and great job getting him before the Winter Meetings.

Also hinted was the possibility of Paul Konerko coming to terms on a deal with the White Sox as well. I’ll have more on that as the information comes out, but it’s a good day to be a White Sox fan, we finally got a power hitter again.
