Konerko expected to miss weekend

White Sox first baseman Paul Konerko underwent a minor surgical operation on his left wrist Friday, leading to him being scratched from the lineup.

He was again left out of the lineup Saturday against the Tigers and manager Ozzie Guillen said he “doesn’t expect” Paulie to be in the lineup Sunday, either.

Ozzie said PK was still a little sore and they’re trying to get him ample rest so he can come back at full strength.

A DL-stint isn’t in the cards here and while the Sox have the man-power, it’s not a bad idea to give Konerko a few days off while other guys are producing.

Konerko is hitting .310 on the season with 12 homers and 44 RBIs.
