Turn the Page: Dunn Hits Triple Digits

The Big Donkey dropped another golden sombrero Sunday in stellar fashion as his fourth strikeout of the day marked his 100th of the season.

Bill Chuck over at BaseballAnalytics.org took an in-depth look at Adam Dunn’s struggles this season. Click here to take a look at some very intriguing but disturbing graphics relating to Dunn’s strikeouts.

The $56 million man has whiffed 16 times in his last six games and is showing no signs of slowing down. Dunn is sporting an abysmal .173 batting average and just a .308 on-base percentage despite having a team-high 42 walks.

Benching him didn’t work and moving him down in the order didn’t work. If Ozzie Guillen and Kenny Williams aren’t willing to do something crazy like call up Dayan Viciedo for 10 days to DH/OF (Beckham to minors, #TeamLilli to second base/LF/leadoff), I think the only other solution is dropping him back in the No. 3 hole in hopes of him seeing much better pitches with Paul Konerko (.324/21/60) lurking on deck as protection.
