Crain on DL; Axelrod Gets Shot

Jesse Crain‘s oblique injury suffered in Spring Training is still very much an issue. Crain has been unavailable for the past couple of games and now the team has officially put him on the 15-day Disabled List. Crain has been effective in his appearances this year striking out 10 batters in his 7 innings, though he has surrendered a pair of long balls.

His roster spot will be filled for now by Dylan Axelrod, coming up from AAA Charlotte. Axelrod has pitched well for the Knights in the young season, earning him a return visit to the big club.
