Jesse Crain Back From DL – Lineups for 5/15

facebooktwitterreddit

Jesse Crain is available today, having just been activated from the 15-day DL. His return requires a corresponding move, and Eric Stults has been designated for assignment as a result. Crain’s return is big for a bullpen that has lacked consistency for a couple weeks now.

Hopefully there will be no need for Crain to enter the game, as Jake Peavy is on the mound looking to continue his return to Cy Young form against the Bowie eye’d Max Scherzer. I don’t think there is much need to explain how great Peavy has been so far this season, he’s sporting a 1.89 ERA with 2 complete games. Scherzer had his best outing of the season against the Sox May 5, going 7 innings and giving up just one run, though he would end up taking the loss.

Today’s lineup:

1.Alejandro De Aza – CF
2.Gordon Beckham – 2B
3.Big Donkey – DH
4.Paulie – 1B
5.AJ – C
6.Rios – RF
7.Alexei – SS
8.Dayan – LF
9.Morel – 3B

You know, sometimes as I type out the lineup I groan at certain names, mumbling to myself about slumps or worried about if this lineup will be able to put together any runs. But one thing a nice comeback victory will do is keep you in good spirits about the team’s ability. I’ll have you know, a continuous nod of approval accompanied this write-up.
