Kevin Hickey: 1956-2012

The White Sox family is a little bit smaller today as Kevin Hickey has passed away.

Hickey grew up in the Chicago area and played in parts of 3 seasons with the White Sox. His busiest and most productive being 1982, in which he made 60 appearances registering a 4-4 record and a 3.00 ERA.

He was found unresponsive in his hotel room opening day in Arlington, was in a coma, and died Wednesday morning at the age of 56.

He was serving as the batting practice coordinator for the White Sox this season.

An interesting note, Kevin Hickey made the White Sox team via an open tryout camp, having only played semi-pro ball prior to that point.
