Show the New Guy Who’s Boss – Lineups 5/24

Sometimes it feels like teams hold pitchers back so that they can make their MLB debuts against the White Sox. In my memory, it never really works out too well for the pale hose. Tonight Minnesota will bring up Cole De Vries for his first appearance in the big leagues, and it will be a start. De Vries has started 8 games so far for AAA Rochester, and going purely by the numbers it appears he’s been underwhelming. He comes from the Minneapolis area, though, so he’s got that going for him, I guess.

Philip Humber is on the mound for the Sox as the team tries to get up over .500 once again. Maybe even for a prolonged stay up there, who knows?

Tonight’s Lineup:

1.De Aza – CF
2.Gordo – 2B
3.Big Donkey – DH
4.Konerko – 1B
5.Rios – RF
6.AJ – C
7.Viciedo – LF
8.Alexei – SS
9.Hudson – 3B

Humber had 2 starts against the Twins last year, one was a beauty in which he went 7 scoreless and the other a clunker in which he gave up 6 runs to get yanked in the 4th. The tale of two Philips is nothing new.

Word on the streets is that Snoop Dogg is throwing out the first pitch. That’s all well and good but is he going to get into the booth with Hawk and Stoney? I hope so. “You can put it on the boooooooard, fo shizzle.” Also,

lol Joe Mauer.
