The White Sox first round draft pick Courtney Hawkins has agreed to terms with the team for the recommended slot bonus of $2.475 million. The Sox selected Hawkins with the 13th pick in the draft out of Carroll High School in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Hawkins will be in Chicago shortly in order to take the necessary physical making everything official. He’s expected to throw out the first pitch in a game against the Cubs when the Sox come back into town.
His pen hitting the paper rounds out signings of all 5 of the Sox top picks in the 2012 draft, and 9 out of the top 10.
