Runs, Please – Lineups 6/15

8 innings and 0 earned runs weren’t enough to get Chris Sale a win last night, so what chance does John Danks have? Well since you ask, Danks has a solid chance. In fact, he lead the team to victory a week ago in his last outing with 8 innings of 1 run ball and just 3 hits allowed. I didn’t expect to see an outing like this out of John Danks this soon, maybe not even this season, but he’s pleasantly surprised me and now will look to build upon it.

A familiar face in place for the Astros as Lucas Harrell is gifted with the task of quieting the already whispering White Sox offense. Harrell was the other Philip Humber to me for a time (or Humber the other Harrell?) until Humber claimed his independence by throwing that thing with the 27 batters and 27 outs. Though they look nothing alike I wonder how often they would do the Patty Duke “mirror” thing in the clubhouse when they were both on the roster. Humber doesn’t find those sorts of things fun anymore, mostly because he’s no longer on a roster and is just generally sad all the time. We’re not here to talk about Humber though, we’re here to talk about Harrell! Harrell is coming off of a pair of 7 inning starts with only 1 earned run allowed between them. In the first of those he got himself the Sox-style loss via an unearned run and an inept offense. We are brothers, Astros fans.

Today’s Lineup:

1.De Aza – CF
2.Alexei – SS
3.Rios – RF
4.Dunn – DH
5.Konerko – 1B
6.Gillaspie – 3B
7.Viciedo – LF
8.Beckham – 2B
9.Flowers – C

De Aza’s B.M. situation has improved (too much?) and back in the leadoff spot he goes. I’m getting to be amused by the regular swap of Dunn and Konerko at 4 and 5. Really paying off in the run column!

Houston Astros Lineup:

1.Brandon Barnes – CF
2.Jose Altuve – 2B
3.Jason Castro – C
4.J.D. Martinez – LF
5.Chris Carter – DH
6.Carlos Pena – 1B
7.Ronny Cedeno – SS
8.Matt Dominguez – 3B
9.Trevor Crowe – RF
