Here is this week’s MiLB report for the Chicago White Sox affiliates at all levels of minor league baseball. The report is for April 7-13.

• Triple-A
Charlotte Knights

For the Knights, who sit at 6-5 overall through 11 games this season, they are second (trail by 2.0 games) in the International League (South) to the Durham Bulls who are 8-3 on the season.

Leading the the Knights in batting average is shortstop Tyler Saladino at .417. This past week, Saladino had 10 hits, including two three-hit games. On Saturday, April 12 he hit his first home run of the season.

On April 8, in his first of two three-hit games, he also had three RBIs with a double and triple, coming against the Bulls.

The Knights added Gorkys Hernandez this week as well and it has already payed off in the two games he’s been in for the Knights. He is batting .400 for Charlotte, with two hits in five at-bats. He’s scored one run and has one RBI.

Josh Phegley is the third Knights player to be batting over the .300 mark, sitting at .313. Phegley this week didn’t have an extra base hit, but did score six runs from April 7-12.

A pitcher to watch out for is Scott Carroll with has an 0.00 ERA with a 3-0 record in 19.0 innings pitched this season.

In two starts this past week (April 8 and 13) Carroll, a RHP, went 6.0 and 7.0 IP, allowing a total of two unearned runs on seven hits and three walks.

Charlie Leesman had a start on April 12 where he went 5.0 innings, allowing one earned run on six hits and three walks for a no-decision.

Birmingham Barons

The Barons sit in third place in the Southern League (North Division) with a 5-5 record, two games out of first place.

One of the White Sox top prospects is second baseman Micah Johnson, who is currently fifth in BA on the Barons at .308 with 11 hits (four doubles) and four RBIs.

This past week, Johnson had five hits (one home run on Saturday), four runs and forced two walks.

In seven games played this season, leading the Barons in BA is Christian Marrero at .381 with five runs and four RBIs. He has an on-base percentage of .829.

In his rehab stint, Gordon Beckham is batting .250 in four at-bats.

This past week in two starts, Nick McCully went 2-0 with an 0.00 ERA. He’s pitched 10 innings in those starts, allowing four total hits and four walks.

He’s held opponents to a .125 BA.
