MLB announced on Tuesday that New York Yankees outfielder Carlos Beltran was named the AL Player of the Week, for the time frame ending on April 13.

In the press release from MLB it states about Beltran’s past week:

"“Beltran batted .423 (11-for-26) with four doubles, three home runs, six RBI and seven runs scored over seven games to claim his fourth career A.L. Player of the Week and his 10th weekly honor overall, last winning while with the St. Louis Cardinals on May 14, 2012.”"

The release also stated:

"“Other noteworthy performances last week included Jose Abreu (.250, 4 HR, 8 RBI, 5 R), Adam Eaton (.385, 10 H, 3 2B, 1 HR, 4 RBI, 10 R), and Alexei Ramirez (.393, 2 2B, 3 HR, 8 RBI, 7 R) of the Chicago White Sox.”"

Getting three White Sox on the list is a step in the right direction. Last week, it was Chris Sale who made the “noteworthy performances” section following his first two starts of the season.

Before it is over, my guess is a White Sox player or two will be AL Player of the Week before the end of April, and no later than the end of May.

The White Sox will play the Yankees from May 22-25 in Chicago, and from Aug. 22-24 in New York.
