The Crosstown Series is over for the year, so now it is time to focus on the rest of the season, meaning it is time for the Chicago White Sox to get back over the .500 mark as they host the Arizona Diamondbacks this weekend.

The Diamondbacks are 11 games under .500 at 13-24 as they enter this series with the White Sox, while the White Sox are an even 18-18 on the season.

The Diamondbacks have won two of their last three against the NL Central first-place Milwaukee Brewers.

As for the Friday pitching matchup, the White Sox send the undefeated Andre Rienzo to the mound, as the right-hander holds a 2-0 mark with a 4.50 ERA. He’ll oppose former White Sox and current Diamondback right-hander Brandon McCarthy. McCarthy enters the game with a 1-5 record, with an ERA of 4.67.

Saturday’s matchup is scheduled with Jose Quintana (1-2, 3.56 ERA) for the White Sox against Wade Miley (2-3, 5.14 ERA) of Arizona.

On Sunday, the pitching matchup will be Hector Noesi (0-1, 4.50 ERA) against TBA.

The White Sox enter this series winners of three of their past four games, all against the Cubs.

Listed are game times of all three games:

• Friday, May 9 at 7:10 p.m. CT (TV: CSN+, Radio: WSCR 670)

• Saturday, May 10 at 6:10 p.m. CT (TV: CSN, Radio: WSCR 670)

•  Sunday, May 11 at 1:10 p.m. CT (TV: CSN, Radio: WSCR 670)

I’m interested to see if Jose Abreu plays this weekend since he left Thursday’s game early, or if he plays, will he be near 100-percent?

Another part of this series I want to see is McCarthy against the White Sox. Though he wasn’t with the team long, I always liked watching him and still do enjoy watching him play the game. When he’s having a good day, he’s fun to watch. (Let’s hope Friday isn’t one of those days.)
