It was announced by the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday they have designated for assignment Jeff Keppinger after activating him from the disabled list.

The White Sox stated in their press release states:

"“Keppinger, 34, has been on the disabled list since March 30 (retroactive to March 21) while continuing his recovery from right shoulder surgery performed on September 26, 2013. He played in 11 games with Birmingham on his rehab assignment.“Keppinger batted .253 (107-423) with four home runs and 40 RBI over 117 games in 2013, his first season with the White Sox after signing as a free agent on December 10, 2012.”"

This isn’t a huge move for the White Sox right now because where would Keppinger actually play in the current infield? I’m not placing him in the lineup over any of the players that are currently in the White Sox lineup.

This was a pure baseball business decision by thew White Sox.
