AL Central Notes takes a look throughout the FanSided network for articles on the Detroit Tigers, Kansas City Royals, Cleveland Indians, Minnesota Twins and the Chicago White Sox.

Puckett’s Pond (Minnesota Twins)
Dozier Hits First Spring Homer In Minnesota Twins Spring Victory: By Collin Kottke

"“Brian Dozier hit his first home run of the spring starting the scoring spree in a Minnesota Twins victory over the Miami Marlins on Thursday afternoon by a score of 7-6.”"

Dozier is one of those players to keep an eye out for the Twins this season and in the AL Central in general. I’m sure when the White Sox play the Twins early in the season, all of us will see what he brings to the table at the start of the season.

Motor City Bengals (Detroit Tigers)
Shane Greene bounces back as Detroit Tigers top Atlanta Braves: By Matt Pelc

"“Greene had allowed three runs on six hits in two innings against Philadelphia, but was perfect over three innings today.”"

For a pitcher like Greene, it seems like he’ll have his really good days and not so great days when he’s on the mound. Maybe he’ll be the Tigers’ version of John Danks or Hector Noesi?

Friday 5: Prospects to Watch in Cleveland Indians Spring Training: by Cody Norman

"“There is significant depth at seemingly every position and, while Tribe manager Terry Francona has to be pleased with the uncommon situation, Tito must still keep his eye on a handful of prospects in big league camp this spring.”"

I like the fact the Indians have young players who can make a difference on their team. The better they are, the better it forces the White Sox (and the rest of the AL Central) to become, so the better the division, hopefully that means the better baseball we’ll see this season.

Kings of Kauffman (Kansas City Royals)
Royals Option John Lamb, Reassign Seven Others to Minor League Camp: By Hunter Samuels

"“The first round of Spring Training cuts have taken place, and John Lamb found himself among the casualties. The 24-year old southpaw was optioned to Triple-A Omaha, where he will hope to build on his successful 2014 campaign, in which he had a 3.97 ERA and 8.5 strikeouts per 9 in 138.1 innings of work.”"

This is part of every spring training for every team, but looking at the numbers from John Lamb, I’ll assume one day we’ll see him again in a KC uniform at the big league level.

Southside Showdown (Chicago White Sox)

AL Central Rankings: Who is the No. 1 centerfielder?: By Brett Pnazek

"“This position is full of guys who are speedsters and can cover the most ground as expected in the outfield. They also tend to be the table setters for the big bats as many of them are expected to bat at the top of the batting order.”"
