White Sox Add to Fan Sections with ‘Shark Cage’

With last seasons success of the “K Zone For Sale” at U.S Cellular Field, the White Sox are adding to their fan sections as they welcome starter Jeff Samardzija to the south side this season.

Playing off Samarzija’s popular nickname, “Shark”,  sections 154 and 155 will be known as the “Shark Cage” when Samardzija takes the mound at home this season. Fans who sit in these sections on those days will receive  a “Shark Cage” cap along with a fin-shaped strikeout card.

This promotion is a continuation of the “K Zone For Sale” section from last season where fans received a K Zone T-shirt as well as a strikeout card when sitting in sections 154 and 155 on days Chris Sale started. Items for both of these promotions can be redeemed at the #SoxSocial Lounge (behind section 154) before the end of the first inning on the given days.

White Sox senior vice president of sales and marketing, Brooks Boyer, knows the new section was a no brainer,

“White Sox fans really loved the ‘K Zone For Sale’ last season,” said Boyer. “With the excitement around the season and Jeff’s nickname as ‘Shark’, it’s only natural that we offer an opportunity for fans to rally around his starts.”

Following the same price range as last years “K Zone For Sale”, tickets for the “Shark Cage” can be purchased for $20 on most “Shark” starts, except family Sundays when tickets are $15 and Crosstown Cup games (subject to availability).

All details pertaining to these promotions as well as the start dates for both Sale and Samardzija will be posted on whitesox.com/sharkcage and whitesox.com/kzone as they become available. You can purchase tickets to all White Sox home games at whitesox.com, the U.S. Cellular Field ticket office and through Ticketmaster.
