White Sox: Carlos Rodon Still Nursing Injured Bicep

Carlos Rodon played catch Monday at Guaranteed Rate Field but a timetable for his return is still uncertain. The White Sox lefty will go back to Arizona and continue the throwing program.
Carlos Rodon played catch Monday at Guaranteed Rate Field under the eye of Don Cooper. The lefty was in town to be re-evaluated but the Chicago White Sox don’t have a timetable for his return. Rodon has been in Arizona rehabbing from bursitis in his left bicep.
He has been on the disabled list since March 28. Cooper told Dan Hayes of CSN Chicago he looked good and the throwing program is progressing. Rodon will return to Arizona to continue the rehab. The organization is not in a hurry to rush him back. He is too valuable an asset to rush back from injury.

Despite the loss, the White Sox have had one of the best pitching staffs in baseball. They have a combined starter’s 3.46 ERA. And that’s with Jose Quintana‘s poor start to the season. One would think the pitching staff could be even better once he returns. That would be a plus for this team. The rotation hasn’t been terrible but any time you can add someone like Rodon, that makes pitching better.
It will be interesting to see how effective he is when he returns. It is concerning that a guy like Rodon is having arm problems this early in his career. That’s why it’s important than ever they let him take his time and recover. This team needs Rodon to be at 100 percent or they don’t need him to be in their rotation.

All eyes will be on the youngster when he finally makes his 2017 debut. It might not be for sometime but fans should be happy to know he’s progressing. He may not be all the way there, but he should hopefully be back in a White Sox uniform soon.
