Chicago White Sox: Three players who are probably gone after 2021

128. . INF/OF. Chicago White Sox. Leury Garcia. 28. player
Leury Garcia has been a very good utility infielder and outfielder while the White Sox went through a rebuild. He isn’t going to be a starter at any position on this team in 2021 but he is going to be a backup and someone who starts on off-days. If Tony La Russa ever has something of a “Sunday lineup”, Garcia’s name is all over it. That doesn’t mean that he is a bad player by any means, it just means that the White Sox are so good and deep.
This is probably going to be his last season with the White Sox. It isn’t a lock but he is a free agent after this year. It would make more sense for him personally to go try and find a job starting somewhere. The White Sox have players like Danny Mendick as an extra infielder, Andrew Vaughn to play first base behind Jose Abreu, and Adam Engel as the fourth outfielder so they would be fine as a team too.
Garcia is a fun player to have on your team but the room for him is running thin. He can go to another team and be their starting second baseman, outfielder, or almost any position. Hopefully, the White Sox are able to use him to their advantage one more time in 2021. Maybe, his last year will be the year that they finally win it all. Who knows, maybe he plays so well that we are wrong and he comes back with a fresh new contract. Either way, it has been fun having him around.

It is honestly amazing that we are at this point of the White Sox rebuild. It has been a while and it has been a long road to where they are now but they are finally a team with championship aspirations.
