A.J. Pierzynski Resigns With White Sox
Apparently the rumors to Toronto were false because A.J. Pierzynski has resigned with the White Sox. It’s being reported that he has accepted a 2 year deal worth $8 million according to both Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports and Jon Heyman of SI.com
There were reports that he was close to a deal with Toronto but no one exactly knows how true those were. Regardless, this is a huge deal for the White Sox because with Pierzynski and Ramon Castro, Tyler Flowers essentially has 2 more years to get himself prepared to be a starting catcher after his offense declined last season.
White Sox pitchers are also happy with this move, as they all enjoy having Pierzynski catch for them and they all credit many of their victories to his pitch selecting.
This caps off a very eventful day for the White Sox, all in all, it’s been a good day.
