White Sox Interested In Kerry Wood

Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports has linked both the White Sox and the New York Yankees to being interested in free agent reliever Kerry Wood.

Wood played for both the Yankees and Cleveland Indians last season. Wood pitched pretty poorly while he was on the Indians, but pitched considerably better in pinstripes. Wood was 1-4 with 8 saves and a 6.30 ERA in 23 games with the Indians. With the Yankees, he was 2-0 with a 0.69 ERA.

It’s easy to see why the Yankees are interested in bringing him back, and the White Sox could be interested in him to fill the bullpen void by the loss of J.J. Putz to the Arizona Diamondbacks or possibly have him try out to be the closer for the White Sox in 2011.
