Morel Riding Bench for Second Straight Game

White Sox 3b Brent Morel is on the outside looking in as the Sox and Orioles get underway in the second game of a four-game series.

Morel is hitting just .203 in 20 games this season. Manager Ozzie Guillen had emphasized the defense over the lumber in Morel’s case, but with the team struggling to score runs more often than not so far this year, Mark Teahen has gotten the nod at the hot corner the last two games.

Brent Lillibridge was left out of the starting lineup Friday despite having shined offensively and defensively all week.

Gordon Beckham is hitting ninth, a considerable drop from the No. 2 hole. If he can start to get things going, it could be a great move having him hitting last in the order.
