Jake Peavy left after just four innings of work against the Detroit Tigers on Sunday afternoon.

The initial diagnosis from the team is a strained right groin. Peavy will be re-evaluated Monday.

Peavy was perfect through the first three innings, including four strikeouts and just 38 pitches. In the fourth inning, he threw 37 pitches, walked three batters and gave up six runs, including a grand slam.

Check back tomorrow for more on Peavy’s condition. With a surplus of starters, don’t be surprised if Peavy misses a start or gets his next one pushed back.
