No, that headline is not a typo, I’m previewing the preview. After a long bout with some unknown virus my computer has finally found and gotten rid of the thing and is allowing me to access the internet again. A lot has happened since I’ve been gone but I’ll sum it up with this:

WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING KENNY!?

So now that we’ve gotten that out of the way I can settle down and write like a human. The 2011 season is done and we can all breathe again. Adam Dunn‘s bad season is behind us, as are Alex Rios‘ and Gordon Beckham‘s. Mark Buehrle, Omar Vizquel, Juan Pierre, Ramon Castro, Sergio Santos, Jason Frasor, and Carlos Quentin are all gone. John Danks signed a substantial contract extension so there’s that. Up to speed? We shall continue.

2012 is shaping up to be an interesting season. As of right now it’s tough to say what direction the Sox are headed in. We still have plenty of veterans on the roster but this might actually be the beginning of a rebuilding process. I’ll run down the roster player-by-player over the next month and a half leading up to Spring Training, listing some realistic expectations and other notes about the player. The state of the depth chart doesn’t change how excited I am for the season to start. Okay, well, maybe it does… a lot… especially this year. But Southside Showdown will providing great reactions and analysis all year long.
