Lineups For Series Opener with Royals 5/11 – Paulino vs. Floyd

The Royals tend to cause the Sox problems for reasons that can’t quite be explained. Coming off of a rare “easy” win in Cleveland, confidences should be high and bats should be lively as the Southsiders square off against Felipe Paulino. Paulino has just one start this year but it went pretty well for him; a 6 inning outing against the Yankees in which he struck out 6 and didn’t allow a run.

Gavin Floyd is also coming off of a quality outing, his against the Tigers in which he went 7 innnings to earn the win. His support tonight:

1.De Aza – CF
2.Gordo – 2B
3.Big Donkey – DH
4.Paulie – 1B
5.AJ – c
6.Rios – RF
7.Alexei – SS
8.Viciedo – LF
9.Escobar – 3B

Escobar’s continued presence means that Brent Morel’s back is still not kosher. I’d love to say that this was some sort of improvement, but Escobar is still trying to feel his way out at the plate, so can’t expect much production from the hot corner today.

It’s a bit early for scoreboard watching, but that doesn’t mean I won’t do it. Cleveland is in Boston and the Red Sox aren’t going too well outside of their recent trip to Chicago. Holding ground until we play our 30th series with Cleveland Memorial Day weekend might be a good idea.
