Lineups For First of a 2 Game Set vs. Tigers

Ken Rosenthal tweeted today that the White Sox are the proud owners of 2 of the 4 lowest OPS in the entire major leagues. Alexei is 4th lowest with .473 and Brent Morel is the absolute bottom at .423. Both of them will have a shot at moving up or down today. Well, Brent will have a shot at moving up, anyway.

John Danks starting a game in which the Sox have put up a single run’s worth of support in the last two? That ought to work out well. John’s last start was a good one, but if he duplicates that will the firepower appear to make it enough. The guys that will try:

1.De Aza – CF
2.Gordo – 2B
3.Big Donkey – DH
4.Paulie – 1B
5.Rios – RF
6.AJ – C
7.Alexei – SS
8.Viciedo – LF
9.Morel – 3B

Drew Smyly will go for the Tigers. Smyly is only 22 but he’s been great so far for the Tigers posting a 1.59 ERA in his 6 starts. He’s yet to go more than 6 innings and he’s only given up more than 2 runs in any of those games once (to the White Sox) so I’m assuming he’s on a pitch count. The Sox would do well to be more patient at the plate than they were last time the Tigers were in town.
