In Which the O-Dog Attempts to Win Our Hearts – Lineups 5/23

The Orlando Hudson era is in full swing tonight, folks! That old dog will be starting at third this evening eager to prove that he’s still got something left in the tank. Last night was…well last night was not pretty. Gavin Floyd continued his struggles against the Twins and I’m a bit fearful that “oh god, it’s the TWINS” seed has once again been planted in the minds of Sox players. At least this year Ozzie isn’t around to talk that up and get everybody thinking about it even more.

Chris Sale will face off on the mound against the man that was the acting staff ace before the Sox put forth an effort to get P.J. Walters a Cy young Vote, Scott Diamond. Diamond has been unexpectedly great so far for the Twins, posting a 1.40 era in support of his 3-0 record. Knocking him down would provide some balance to last night’s debacle.

Tonight’s lineup:

1.De Aza – CF
2.Gordo – 2B
3.Big Donkey – DH
4.Paulie – 1B
5.Rios – RF
6.AJ – C
7.Dayan – LF
8.Alexei – SS
9.Hudson – 3B

You may have noticed last night that Gordon Beckham hit a HR. You may have also noticed that in the outs that he made, the ball was stung. That bat is looking better every game. He’s got some momentum going so put your pick to click votes in early for Gordo.

Tonight the White Sox will honor the Chicago Police Department as a special thanks for their service during NATO this past weekend. It was announced yesterday that each officer will get two complimentary tickets to a game. It’s a nice move by the Sox. The folks in blue are regularly underappreciated and so often the only time people pay any mind to their work is when something negative happens. Good for the Sox for recognizing a hard working group of men and women that go out and do their job everyday while rarely getting much of anything in return.
