Let’s Show Andrew Albers Sample Size – Game Preview And Lineups 8/17

Once again Chris Sale day is upon us. There won’t be an MLB.com Ace Off graphic for this matchup, but so far Anthony Albers has been impressive for the Twins. He’s had two starts, one saw him pitch into the 9th, and another saw him finish the 9th. Neither saw him allow any runs. He’s carrying a 0.00 ERA through 17.1 innings, letting just 6 hits drop and walking a single batter. He’s yet to surrender an extra-base hit of any kind. It’s impressive, though it’s just two games. His minor league numbers don’t show somebody quite as invincible. The Padres draftee was given up on by the team and the Twins grabbed him after a stint at Canadian independent ball. His main strength over the years appears to be a guy that keeps the ball in the ballpark. A 0.00 ERA isn’t in his future but regression is.

Chris Sale is coming off of a complete game performance against the Tigers in which he allowed just two runs, one of which was a homerun to Miguel Cabrera, which really shouldn’t count because he’s not a regular human being and actually a cyborg of some sort with very complex programming that I can’t really get into right now.
