The Chicago White Sox are looking to make it two straight wins against the visiting New York Yankees on Friday night, as they host the Bronx Bombers for the second of their four-game series at US Cellular Field.
Chicago is sending right-handed pitcher Hector Noesi (0-4, 7.31 ERA) to the mound, while the Yankees will start Hiroki Kuroda, a right-handed pitcher with an overall record this season of 3-3, along with an ERA of 4.61.
In his most recent start against the Pittsburgh Pirates, Kuroda gained a win, pitching six innings. He allowed three earned runs on five hits and two walks. In the win he struck out seven.
Looking at Noesi for his career against the Yankees, he’s 0-1 with a 3.97 ERA, with eight strikeouts. Against Noesi, Jacoby Ellsbury has two RBIs when he played for the Boston Red Sox.
Kuroda is 2-2 all-time against the White Sox, with a 3.38 ERA and 34 strikeouts.
Alejandro De Aza, Adam Dunn, Paul Konerko and Alexei Ramirez each have one home run against Kuroda. Ramirez also has six RBIs for his career with Kuroda. Konerko and Dunn each have three RBIs against the Yankees’ Friday night starter.
The game is scheduled to start at 7:10 CT (8:10 ET) on CSN or MLB.TV for out of market viewers.
