Since a lazy day in March of 2010 fueled by hospital-strength Tylenol, I've been writing about the White Sox on the internet. By "writing about", I mean that I've been centering impromptu statistical analysis projects, snarky mockery of news copy, and sleepless nights around the general topic of White Sox baseball. In said time, I've put on about 10 pounds, developed a caffeine addiction, and become an expert on Alex Rios' emotions. It's been great.
My full-time blog is White Sox Observer, but this place here is cool too.

One of the reasons sports is so appealing is that it gets closer to being a pure meritocracy than most other areas of life. More or less, the cream rises to the top and is rewarded, and incompetence–while…Read More
This is the year Tyler Flowers might take the reins of the starting catcher job from A.J. Pierzynski. Well, good. Someone probably should.

For all we know, we’re a select few moments from Yoenis Cespedes and Jorge Soler announcing their signing with the White Sox. While embracing Soler, as well as Alexei Ramirez and Dayan Viciedo,…Read More
SoxFest 2012 is in the books, and perhaps the major takeaway is that things did not go in accordance with what you’d expect for a team coming off a horribly disappointing season, and just spent the…Read More
The Detroit Tigers are reportedly interested in Juan Pierre. Heh.
With the exception of 2009, when he got some really good luck on balls in play (.331 BABIP), Juan Pierre has been the same guy for some…Read More
For my first entry here as a staff member of Southside Showdown, I thought it appropriate to establish the tone and approach that my readers at White Sox Observer have become familiar with: cynicism and…Read More
