Mark Buehrle put the White Sox in an early hole through 3 innings. He allowed 5 runs to cross the plate, and the sox trailed 5-1. After that he allowed none, and the White Sox began to chip off at the lead. Beckham added a 2 run homer, and Ramirez and Konerko added solo shots.
Juan Pierre was plated by an Alex Rios single late in the game, and every one was wondering if Bobby Jenks would be called in for the save situation. He came in the game with something to prove, and solidified his role as the White Sox closer. His fastball reached 99 mph for the first time in a while, and he struck out the side protecting a 6-5 win.
This win was a confidence builder for the team, and they should be able to take this momentum and turn it into a 4 game series sweep. The Twins remain a game behind the Sox, and they are off today. Freddy Garcia will be opposed by David Paulie tonight at The Cell.
