Update On Waiver Claim Of RHP Waldis Joaquin

According to MLB.com’s Scott Merkin, Waldis Joaquin has rejected the claim off of waivers by the White Sox and has elected to become a free agent instead.

Not much to this story as the details why he rejected the waiver claim haven’t been given as of yet. When posting about the claim I saw no reason as to why the White Sox claimed him to begin with. This is no big loss to the organization, and I’m sure they can find some other pitcher to take Joaquin’s place wherever he was going to end up playing.
