Peavy Reinstated from DL…Again
By Editorial Staff

The White Sox optioned RHP Lucas Harrell to Triple-A Charlotte after Tuesday night’s 3-2 win over the Chicago Cubs to make room for Jake Peavy, who was reinstated from the disabled list Wednesday to start against the Cubs.
Peavy, 30, was placed on the DL on June 8 (retroactive to June 6) with a strained right adductor. He threw 6 scoreless innings in a rehab start on June 16 vs. Syracuse, allowing two hits with no walks and nine strikeouts.
Peavy is 2-1 with a 4.66 ERA and 20 strikeouts in five starts this season. He left his last start on June 5 vs. Detroit after 4 innings.
The Sox have split the first two against the Cubs and look to Peavy and their offense to do damage against lefty Doug Davis and their crosstown foes.
