As much as Adam Dunn and Alex Rios have a say in how this season ends, the pitching staff may be the x-factor.
Nathaniel over at Seedlings to Stars has taken a look at Addison Reed (shouldn’t he be in the Cubs system?) and Brady Shoemaker, a couple of prospects who are working their way through the White Sox farm system.
Reed was selected just two rounds after Chris Sale in the 2010 draft and is zooming through the farm, just earning his third promotion of the year.
Like Dylan Axelrod, Reed is another name we might learn for a moment or two come September. There will be bullpen spots available next season with Sale expected to move to the rotation. Get a head start on your spring training tracking by clicking here to read about Reed and Shoemaker.
