4/23 Lineup – White Sox @ A’s

Okay we’re done with the Mariners, new opponent! The Athletics are next on the ledger and the Sox will try and walk out of the Oakland Coliseum with the same result as Safeco: a sweep.

The series kicks off tonight with Jake Peavy heading to the mound against a familiar foe in Bartolo Colon. Colon has been surprisingly effective this year going 3-1 with a 2.63 ERA. He’s also been throwing an awful lot of strikes. Peavy has been similarly impressive this year, they are sporting very similar ERAs so far this year. Both recently had their own experimental surgeries so I suppose tonight is a Stem Cell vs. Tendon Re-attachment.

Tonight’s Lineup:

1.De Aza – CF
2.Alexei – SS
3.Dunn – 1B
4.Konerko – DH
5.Pierzynski – C
6.Rios – RF
7.Viciedo – LF
8.Morel – 3B
9.Beckham – 2B

Konerko will take another half day leaving Dunn to play 1B. Let’s just hope he’s not left out of any mound meetings like yesterday. Alexei is getting another whirl in the 2 spot. Should Morel’s stay at the end of the lineup become and extended one he should be able to get himself productive again without that #2 hitter mentality bogging him down.
