Quintana vs. Correia: The Rematch – Lineups and Game Preview 8/16

Let me tell you something about the 2013 White Sox that you already know: they find a way to lose. Kevin Correia has made two starts in August. The first came against the Royals. He lasted 2 innings, and gave up 7 runs. The second came against the White Sox. He went 7 scoreless innings. 5 hits, 1 walk, 7 strikeouts. His third is tonight, and it is of course against the White Sox. Who find ways to lose. Oh well, at least we hire our own infield heroes to manage the team.

Jose Quintana will be doing his best to find a way to win despite coming off of a poor outing against these very Twins the last time out. His 5 runs allowed in that start were the most since his 2013 debut in April.

Today’s Lineup:

1.De Aza – LF
2.Keppinger – 2B
3.Ramirez – SS
4.Dunn – 1B

Often when a player makes repeated mental mistakes or glaring errors, a manager will sit that player and let him think about it. Regain some focus. In fact, Alexei has sat a time or two for this very reason in the past under the old regime. There really isn’t anybody else to play shortstop though, and Alexei happens to be swinging a hot bat. Last night snapped an 11-game hit streak, though he did drive in a run via sacrifice fly.

Minnesota Twins Lineup:

1.Brian Dozier – 2B
2.Joe Mauer – C
3.Justin Morneau – 1B
4.Josh Willingham – LF
5.Ryan Doumit – DH
6.Trevor Plouffe – 3B
7.Wilkin Ramirez – RF
8.Clete Thomas – CF
9.Doug Bernier – SS
