3. The starting pitching will win this series

Erik Johnson on Thursday will pitch his best game of the season … I hope. These are bold, and saying Johnson will pitch a good game against the Red Sox is being pretty bold, even though he has failed to do so this season.

Johnson is 0-1 overall with a 9.58 ERA.

If Johnson can just not let the Red Sox have a big inning, he’ll get a win in the series opener.

I’m not too worried about John Danks and Chris Sale, as they are two of the three better pitchers on the White Sox staff.

I believe this trio of starters can keep the White Sox in games, but what worries me is the bullpen.
