The Chicago White Sox announced Tuesday that the surgery on Avisail Garcia‘s torn labrum in his left shoulder was a success.

In their release the White Sox stated:

“Garcia, 22, will remain in Chicago with the club while undergoing approximately six months of rehabilitation.  He is expected to be available without restriction for the start of 2015 spring training.”

This is very good news for the White Sox and for Garcia, especially the part about him being available for the 2015 spring training.

Before he was injured in a game against the Colorado Rockies on April 9, he was batting .267 with two home runs and four RBIs.

Garcia, in the eight games he played in this season, scored six runs.

The White Sox, I believe, are really going to miss Garcia for the remainder of ’14, as this season could have been a successful just by looking at the numbers he’d already put up in those eight games.
