With the Minnesota Twins firing manager Ron Gardenhire on Monday, the rumors have already begun to swirl about who will replace the Twins’ longtime manager. One of those names is very familiar to the Chicago White Sox.

Minnesota Twins beat writer Mike Berardino tweeted the following earlier today:

Of course Ozzie wants back in, and though I would not prefer to see him with the Twins, or with any team in the AL Central, you have to admit he might be a good fit there.

He’s an opposite of Gardenhire, who seems to be a little more laid-back than Guillen, but maybe that is what Minnesota needs after two consecutive seasons of 90-plus losses.

I believe Gardenhire will get a job managing in the majors again if he wants to continue to be a manager, because he knows what he’s doing. The Twins teams from 2002-10 were very good teams that finished no worse than third in the division, including six AL Central championships.

I remember those teams well, as I got tired of them winning the division so much during that time frame, but a lot of that was because of Gardenhire.

Being that this is just a rumor and nothing more, Ozzie might be the guy who could make the Twins formidable once again, which would be good for the entire division.

More from White Sox Rumors

With the White Sox possibly being a good team again in ’15, and with two other teams in the division in this year’s postseason, how fun would the AL Central be to watch?

I know this will all eventually blow over with Ozzie being in the mix of the Twins, and if Ozzie were to manage in the majors again, I’d just rather it not be in the AL Central … that’s all.
