The Chicago White Sox took care of business against a struggling Detroit Tigers team and they made sure their road trip ended on a positive note.

The Chicago White Sox defeated the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday afternoon by a final score of 8-1. They started the game off by chipping away slowly at the scoreboard but would eventually break it open and really give Detroit no chance to win. It was a really solid performance by the White Sox all around to make sure they take 3 of 4 from the worst team in the league.

This win clinched the series win and gave the White Sox a 5-2 record on their current road trip. It was a solid trip because the White Sox played well against a difficult Philadelphia Phillies team and defeated a team that they should in the Tigers. It is important to not be afraid of the good teams and not take the bad teams too lightly. The MLB season is a grind for everyone and the White Sox had a good showing on this trip.

Tim Anderson had a tremendous showing in this game by going four 4/4 with three runs scored. Then there is Jose Abreu, who was hitting right behind Anderson, also had a great day with three hits himself. This duo combined to score five of the Sox eight runs in this one and was the backbone of the offense.

Ivan Nova got the start for Chicago and he was brilliant. He went eight innings and allowed only five hits and no earned runs. Nova has been inconsistent this season but he has been really good lately. He is a solid third or fourth man in the rotation right now and he is going to need to pitch well for this team to finish off this season with some positive vibes going into 2020.

They are going to have an off-day on Thursday before they start a six-game homestand. The Oakland Athletics are already in town as they just concluded a series with the Chicago Cubs but they get to stay as their next series shifts to the south side to take on the White Sox. Not a bad road trip for the A’s, as they get a full summer week in Chicago.

The White Sox are back on track after a miserable stretch following the all-star break and winning five of their last seven games really shows that. Hopefully, we see them continue to play some good baseball as there are some really good teams coming up on the schedule.
