The Chicago White Sox and New York Yankees are going to play a regular-season game at the Field of Dreams, so what does this mean for the team?

The Chicago White Sox and the New York Yankees are going to play a game at the Field of Dreams in Iowa. The iconic baseball movie lives in the hearts of all baseball fans and Ray and John Kinsella’s favorite teams are going to be the ones playing in the game. It is a thrill for fans of both teams, but White Sox fans specifically should be very excited for what this means.

The White Sox are not having the best year but most believed this would be the last year with a learning curve before they begin to contend. The White Sox being a part of this game in Iowa shows that they are all in on being a playoff contender. They would not agree to play in a game of this magnitude if they weren’t a great team.

You can probably expect there to be way less borderline MLB players on the roster and it should be filled out a lot more than it currently is. You can expect the likes of Yoan Moncada, Eloy Jimenez, and Tim Anderson to be joined by guys like Luis Robert and Nick Madrigal. They might also go out and spend some money this offseason so they really might be a great team.

The Yankees are a team loaded with stars like Aaron Judge, Gary Sanchez, Giancarlo Stanton, and Didi Gregorius. They are good and will be for a long time so the White Sox are going to need to be on their level by the time this game rolls around. The game will be played on August 13th, 2020. That lines up perfectly with the timeline of their rebuild and this should be a great event for all involved.

The White Sox have been preaching about 2020 for three seasons now and this event puts an exclamation on that. Hopefully, this theory comes true because it would be so sweet to have a really good White Sox team play a really good Yankees team on such a ginormous stage. This means they have expectations next year to at least be decent. This year has been a good step forward and it will only get better from there.
