The Chicago White Sox got it done against one of the best teams in all of Major League baseball. They continue to grow and this series was proof.

The Chicago White Sox won the series against one of the best teams in all of baseball, the Houston Astros. The Astros are so deep and are legit World Series contenders. They are going to make a real run at the title this year, but the White Sox took the season series from them and it is awesome to see for the development of this team.

The first two games were split over a Tuesday doubleheader after the game was rained out on Monday night. Good pitching performances from both teams in both games allowed each team to get a win and both teams looked good overall in both games. The real fun, however, came in the third game of the series.

It was a wild game that the offense on both teams showed up. Eloy Jimenez hit his 20th home run of the season to add to what has been a really good rookie year for him. He had two extended stints on the IL and still has 20 with over a month left to go in the season. If he can stay healthy, he is proving that he is going to be a complete superstar in short order.

The Astros are as elite as the elite can be, so they were able to tie the game after Eloy put them ahead by two when superstar Jose Altuve hit a home run to tie the game. Then, the Astros left the bases loaded in the top of the eighth and the White Sox escaped the half frame with a tie. Then in the bottom of the eighth, they wouldn’t waste their opportunity with the bases loaded as James McCann blasted a grand slam to give the White Sox the win. It would serve as the game-winning hit as they locked them down in the 9th to win 13-9 in the wildest game you’ll see this season.

This is an incredible series win for the White Sox. The Astros are so good and if they go on to win a World Series title for the second time in three years, nobody would be surprised. This will give them confidence in every other series they participate in over the rest of the season. This team is capable of beating some really good teams now so as they get deeper they will start to win even more games.

James McCann has had an incredible year both offensively and defensively, and this was the cherry on top. There is still over a month to go in the season, but this moment should serve as the most memorable from the entire season. James has been an awesome addition and hopefully, he can be a part of this team for a little while.
