The Chicago White Sox are about to have yet another series with the Minnesota Twins and they are looking to slow them down.

The Chicago White Sox are about to take on the Minnesota Twins yet again. They played each other a week ago and the White Sox took two of the three games. The Twins are ahead of the American League Central as we stand by 3.5 games and they are looking to take the crown. The White Sox are going to try and make that a little bit more difficult for them.

The White Sox just took three of four from the Texas Rangers over the weekend and looked really good. The Rangers are right there with the White Sox in the standings so they showed in the last two series that they can beat good teams and mediocre teams. The White Sox are by no means going to be a playoff team this year, but at 60-70 they are two wins away from matching their total from 2018 with 32 games remaining. This is a strong improvement and there is a lot to be excited about.

The last time Lucas Giolito took the mound, he had one of the best games of his career as he dominated the Twins. He is going to get the ball in the first game of this series and he will go up against Twins pitcher Michael Pineda. This has a chance to be a really strong pitching matchup, but the advantage goes to the White Sox if Giolito pitches as he did in his last start.

The second game is going to be Ross Detwiler against Jake Odorizzi of the Twins. Last week, Odorizzi got tagged by the White Sox early so he will be looking for revenge. He faced Giolito who was steller, but this time he will face Detwiler who had a surprisingly good start in his last time out against the high powered Twins offense. This is a pitching matchup that could easily go either way, and it depends on how the bats do in the game. The advantage goes to the Twins but you simply don’t know what you may get from Detwiler.

Dylan Cease is going to pitch for the White Sox in the series finale on Thursday. He gave up a three-run home run in the first inning of his last start and then locked it down the rest of the way. He earned the win in the game and had a career-high nine strikeouts. He is going to face Jose Berrios who is 10-7 with a 3.53 ERA.
