2. player. 128. . OF. Chicago White Sox. Luis Alexander Basabe

The Chicago White Sox are pretty set in the outfield for a while. The only thing that is in question beyond next season is right field but that could take care of itself if Nomar Mazara is any good. They could use Luis Alexander Basabe as trade bait if they see something valuable on another team that could help them. Basabe is mostly a centerfielder anyway and the White Sox are pretty locked in at that position for a long time.

Luis Robert is going to be the centerfielder for the White Sox for a long time. He has yet to play a single Major League Baseball game and the White Sox were still confident enough to give him a big contract before the season. They are wasting no service time or anything like that with him which tells us they are ready to ride with him. That could leave Basabe’s chances of becoming an MLB player with this franchise slim.

Basabe was the third piece traded to the White Sox along with Yoan Moncada and Michael Kopech in the sade that sent Chris Sale to the Boston Red Sox. They have already hit on Moncada and Kopech is in the long term plans so Basabe might be the odd man out of the three. If another team needs to take restock their farm system while giving the White Sox something they need, a trade involving Basabe could absolutely be in play.
