The calendar is now flipped to February so Chicago White Sox fans need to be ready to get going with this team that has so many expectations.
February has finally arrived. The Chicago White Sox and the rest of Major League Baseball are oh so close to returning for 162 games of high intense action. A highly intriguing Super Bowl between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers will be all of the hype for the next few days as we roll into February but not long after that, the focus will shift to baseball. In Chicago, there are two teams headed in different directions.
Right now, the White Sox are the team headed in the right direction. They had a ten-game improvement in 2019 over 2018 so they believe they can be even better in 2020. On top of all of their core players taking a major step once again, there has been some great free agency adds this offseason. 2020 is going to be a great year for White Sox fans as the team takes another major step towards being great for a long time.
The season begins with Spring Training. February is the month that it all gets going. There are some things fans should know about the month’s happenings. White Sox pitchers and catchers are going to report on Tuesday, February 11th. They will have their first workout the very next day on Wednesday, February 12th. Position players will come over four days later on Sunday, February 16th with the whole squad having their first workout the next day on Monday, February 17th.
Their Spring Training, as usual, will be played at the Camelback Ranch in Glendale Arizona. The organization will play nine games over eight days to finish February. There will be a split-squad game on the 25th against the Cleveland Indians and San Francisco Giants. Not every game is going to be available via radio or television so fans might have to follow along in different ways. This is as exciting of a February as the White Sox will have in many years.
