The Chicago White Sox are getting ready for a big season. They will finally get it underway in the month of March after all the hype.
March is finally here! The Chicago White Sox and the rest of Major League Baseball get underway this month. There is still a bit more Spring Training left to take care of before Opening Day. They will open the season later this month at Guaranteed Rate Field against the Kansas City Royals. March 26, 2020, is the day that all of the hype finally hits the field for the first time.
There is still a lot of things to figure out here in the early portion of the month. The Opening Day starting pitcher is expected to be Lucas Giolito. Unless any kind of injury happens, this is the best pitcher on the staff and he deserves that honor. The rest of Spring Training will be to determine how they will run their rotation from game two out. These guys are going to be looking to put on their best performances along the way so they can try and get the best spot possible.
The pitchers are not the only ones that are looking for roster spots this month. Of course, guys like Eloy Jimenez, Yoan Moncada, Tim Anderson, and Jose Abreu are all locks to make the roster. They are the major keys to this team performing at a high level in 2020. A guy like Luis Robert is likely to make the team right away not but having a good finish to Spring Training would be great for his confidence heading into his MLB debut.
There have also been some injuries over the past year or two that have to be worked out. None are bigger than the Tommy John surgery performed on Michael Kopech. He is back and looking to be in perfect form heading into the season. It shouldn’t surprise anyone if he gets some Minor League starts to begin the year but he will be up soon enough. A decision on him and everyone else in question will be made just a little bit later this month.
