The Chicago White Sox defeated the Chicago Cubs in their Friday Spring Training game by a score of 6-3. It is always fun beating them no matter what.

The Chicago White Sox defeated the Chicago Cubs by a final score of 6-3. No matter what time of year it is, it is fun to see the White Sox defeat the Cubs. It doesn’t matter that it is Spring Training. Beating them should give all White Sox fans a thrill. This should be a season where both teams are competitive so this could be a lot of fun.

The White Sox saw Lucas Giolito make his Spring Training debut. He only pitched one inning and it was a good inning. He struck out Willson Contreras and gave Kyle Schwarber a hit by pitch but nothing came of it. The team was only wanting to have him go for one inning and that is exactly what he did. He is probably going to be the Opening Day starter, so getting him feeling well is the top priority. This was a good start as his one inning was scoreless.

Former Cubs prospect Eloy Jimenez scored for the White Sox when Luis Robert hit an RBI double. It gave the White Sox the lead that they would hold for the balance of the game. These two are huge pieces to this team so it is good to see them continue to play well in the Spring. They need to keep it going into the regular season.

Yoan Moncada signed a big fancy new extension yesterday. He responded by having a big day against the Cubs. He went 3-3 just a day after the big news came out. He has arrived on the scene and this should be a big year for him. Jose Abreu also got on the board as far as home runs this spring in this game. It was a two-run shot for the White Sox to put them up 4-0. The game was pretty much all White Sox from there.

The White Sox are going to play the Cubs one more time this spring. It is also the next NBC Sports Chicago White Sox broadcast. That will come next Friday afternoon at Camelback Ranch. Their next game, in general, comes tomorrow when they play the San Fransico Giants at Scottsdale Stadium.
