The Chicago White Sox have a cast of characters on the team. There are a few players that would be brilliant if they were Mic’d up when baseball comes back.

The Chicago White Sox have a brilliant cast of characters in their organization right now. There are so many great baseball players there that are going to help them win for a long time. They have a nice mix of power and contact in their young core along with some pitchers that have extremely high ceilings. This rebuild was tough during the dog days but they are so close to reaping the benefits.

The MLB is currently on pause due to the coronavirus. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused the world to shut down and everybody has been affected. The MLB has had lots of rumors swirling around that they will return with different rules to accommodate the strange year. There are plenty of wacky on-field ideas floating around that should change the way the game is played.

There are also some rules that have been reportedly considered that would affect the entertainment factor of watching baseball games on television. One of those is the idea of implementing microphones for players during games. If there are going to be no fans in the stands, the product on television is very important.

If the White Sox were to have some players on microphones during games that count, that would certainly be fun to watch. There are players who would clearly be better at it than others but as long as everyone bought in, that would make things fun as much as it could be. These three White Sox players would be the most fun to have Mic’d up:

1. player. 128. . OF. Chicago White Sox. Eloy Jimenez

The Chicago White Sox have an all-around superstar in Eloy Jimenez. He hit 31 home runs in his rookie year and is as polished of a hitter as the White Sox have had at this young of an age in a long time. He is only scratching the surface of what he can do at the Major League level. There could be a world where Jimenez is one of the best power hitters in the world one day. The fact that he gets to be a part of a lineup with Yoan Moncada and Luis Robert is very exciting.

As fun as Jimenez is to watch on the field, he is equally as fun to watch off the field. He yells funny things into the camera when he is doing postgame interviews and is a treat to have on our team from a personality perspective. He is one of those personalities that make it so easy to root for him. When a guy is as happy as Jimenez is all the time, it is clear that he just loves playing the game of baseball for a living.

As a fan, you want guys who are easy to root for. That is why having him on a microphone during actual play might be very entertaining. He is loud and has some really funny comments at the perfect times. If we were able to hear some of his humor come out on the baseball field, it would be a treat to listen to. He is the type of guy who could see one of his audio clips go viral because it was so perfect. He definitely leads the pack of White Sox players that we want to hear with a microphone if the season comes back.

Tim Anderson. 2. player. 128. . SS. Chicago White Sox

Nobody’s personality hit the scene bigger than Tim Anderson in 2019. It all started with his “stick talk” movement after his sweet bat flip on a home run. Brad Keller and the Kansas City Royals didn’t like what Anderson did and they decided to throw at him. From that point on, Anderson took off to become one of the best players in the league.

Anderson was so good that he ended up winning the Major League batting title. He was brilliant all year long. In his efforts with his play and his personality, he has bloomed into one of the true leaders in the White Sox clubhouse. Without him, it would be hard to see someone being that true leader for any other reason besides their skill or age. Anderson brings a sense of a winning attitude to this team.

As a young team, they need someone to lead the charge. Hearing Anderson lead the charge as a Mic’d up player would be really fun to listen to.  The MLB clearly sees him as one of the faces of this team because they use him on a lot of promos that involve the Sox. They would certainly want to hear what he has to say during games that matter and it would be great for us fans to listen to.

Chicago White Sox. Lucas Giolito. 3. player. 128. . SP

There has to be some pitching involved if you were to drop microphones on players during games that count. There are always interesting things pitchers do, especially when they have mound visits with catchers. As long as teams like the Hoston Astros don’t have access to that audio, things would certainly be fun for fans to hear there.

Lucas Giolito has bloomed into one of the most important players in the White Sox organization in 2019. He was one of the very best pitching prospects of the 2010s but was not good at all in his first full season.  2018 was a nightmare for Giolito who seemed like a guy who just might never hit his potential. Then in 2019, he became the pure ace of the staff. He was one of the best pitchers in all of baseball, in fact.

Lucas Giolito has been very open about what has caused him to turn the corner the way that he has. He is a brilliant interview and if you haven’t ever heard him talk about baseball, you should look into it. There are plenty of platforms that Giolito has spoken on. He, by all accounts, would be a great guy to wear a microphone during baseball games. This is a great idea for the MLB to try and insert during what is sure to be a weird season.
