It was the first trade that the Sox made to signify that they are going to commit to rebuilding their team the right way. It was a long time coming for the White Sox as they were a very top-heavy team that just could never get over the hump. Now they are working to be a very deep organization that continues to be smart.
Moncada is the sign of hope that this team will continue to do that. Since that, they have made trades, free agent signings, and drafted to increase their infrastructure. Players like Lucas Giolito, Reynaldo Lopez, Eloy Jimenez, Dylan Cease, Luis Robert, Nick Madrigal, and Andrew Vaughn amongst others have followed Moncada into the organization. It is a very bright future for this team with Yoan leading the way.
