The Chicago White Sox future depends on the play of Yoan Moncada as they try to turn the corner of their rebuild. He is the key to their chances in 2020.

The Chicago White Sox are a team that is absolutely loaded with young talent. Amongst all of those great young players, Yoan Moncada is probably the most important of them all. They need him to be the best baseball player that he can be if they are going to turn the corner of their rebuild. They have big plans as an organization and they start and end with Moncada.

The White Sox got Yoan Moncada along with Michael Kopech in the trade that sent Chris Sale to the Boston Red Sox. It was the first trade that the Sox made to signify that they are going to commit to rebuilding their team the right way. It was a long time coming for the White Sox as they were a very top-heavy team that just could never get over the hump. Now they are working to be a very deep organization that continues to be smart.

Moncada is the sign of hope that this team will continue to do that. Since that, they have made trades, free agent signings, and drafted to increase their infrastructure. Players like Lucas Giolito, Reynaldo Lopez, Eloy Jimenez, Dylan Cease, Luis Robert, Nick Madrigal, and Andrew Vaughn amongst others have followed Moncada into the organization. It is a very bright future for this team with Yoan leading the way.

He made the switch from second base to third base in 2019 and he had a breakout year all around. Due to that fact, the White Sox are counting on him to have a big year in 2020. If he is able to have the same year or perhaps even improve even, the White Sox will be so much better off. They are relying on a lot of players to have good years if baseball comes back after the pandemic passes enough to allow it, but Moncada is amongst the most important.
