Chicago White Sox. Clayton Richard. 2. player. 128. . SP

The Chicago White Sox signed Clayton Richard to a Minor League deal a few days ago. This is probably the least efficient route to go but if they want to purchase his contract and bring him in, it is certainly an option. Richard has had a long 11-year career where he has had some ups and downs. He started his career here in Chicago with the White Sox. Well, now he is a part of the organization again and looking to have one last go at it.

He has been a journeyman that spent time with the White Sox, Chicago Cubs, San Diego Padres, and Toronto Blue Jays. His most recent season with the Toronto Blue Jays in 2019 didn’t go so well. He made 10 starts and had a 1-5 record. He had a 5.96 ERA over 45.1 innings pitched. It didn’t go well for him but if the Sox uses him that means that they believe he can make one good start to hold them over one of the other guys come back.

Has Carlos Rodon thrown his last pitch with the White Sox?. light. Hot

Richard is the worst option of the three but he is an option. It would make more sense to use one of the other two guys but it feels like he is in consideration because he was signed right when the news came out that Rodon was out. It could just be a Minor League depth move and that’s all but you never know. Hopefully, the White Sox make the right decision so they can win a baseball game.
