Former Chicago White Sox manager, Ozzie Guillen, had some interesting comments.
The Chicago White Sox were so blessed to have Ozzie Guillen as their manager in the early 2000s. He did everything necessary to get that core over the edge and they finally won the World Series in 2005. It was a great run with Ozzie at the helm and he is beloved in this town forever for it. Well, he made some comments about a former player a few days ago that broke the internet. All White Sox fans should be fired up that he still cares this much to this day.
Nick Swisher was a member of the White Sox in 2008. Ozzie was still the manager at that point in time and he did not like Swisher. He was pretty bad on the field that year but it didn’t seem like that was the reason Ozzie didn’t like him. Ozzie revealed these feelings about Swisher on the White Sox post-game a couple of nights ago.
His exact words, as you can hear, were “I hate Nick Swisher with my heart”. It was easy to tell back then that things weren’t working out between Swisher and the White Sox but nobody seemed to know that it was that bad. According to Guillen, it was his attitude that was a problem for the White Sox. The funny thing is, the season he was with the White Sox was also the last time the team went to the playoffs.
He moved on from there and went to the New York Yankees where he would win the World Series the following year. He would then play a total of four years with them and then had a short stint with the Cleveland Indians and Atlanta Braves. It was honestly just wild to hear Ozzie Guillen let it rip on Swisher like that after a 1-0 White Sox loss to the Milwaukee Brewers. Ozzie may or may not end up managing again one day but there is no doubt he is entertaining with Chuck Garfien on the postgame. Twitter was all over this video and it was so much fun to read the reactions.
