The Chicago White Sox almost managed to win a game that they had no business winning.

The Chicago White Sox were defeated by the Oakland Athletics on Wednesday. It was a game that the Oakland A’s had a 5-0 lead but the White Sox made it really interesting in the end. It was 5-3 with bases loaded in the night inning. Jose Abreu wasn’t able to get a base hit with two outs and the game went final. It was a game that a lot of things went wrong for the White Sox and they were still able to make it close.

One thing that was apparent is the bad start from Dallas Keuchel. He had not a single “bad start” during the 2020 season and has been everything he was advertised as so we went in with a lot of confidence. Well, he decided to have that bad outing at the worst possible time. The A’s are very good against lefties and they showed it more today.

The White Sox offense was quiet for the vast majority of the game but there were some great defensive plays made by Oakland to keep the White Sox off the board. They need to be better against whoever it is they face tomorrow but the fight they showed at the end should give fans some confidence.

They are probably going to go into that game three pretty angry. Jose Abreu wasn’t effective like he normally is and he didn’t come up clutch at the end. That isn’t going to sit well with him and you can probably expect some fireworks tomorrow from him. We don’t know either starting pitcher but you should expect to see some Dane Dunning and Garrett Crochet in game three.

As far as this game, they need to forget about the beginning and carry on the momentum from the end. It takes a lot to believe you are never out of a game and that is exactly the mindset the White Sox have in any game. This was a tough game but hopefully, they can get the job done tomorrow.
